The Sprinkling system for dust suppression is basically designed to prevent the liftoff of dust from stockpiles and roads.  Water is applied to the stockpiles to keep coal or other materials damp, preventing the dispersion of dust. Sprinkler irrigation systems are employed for dust control on outdoor stockpiles, roads, etc. However, when stockpiles are excavated, dust may emerge as the drier material in the pile is exposed and disturbed. Compared to a  fogging system, a sprinkler system consumes more water. The choice of a sprinkling system involves careful planning and thoughtful consideration.
